Family Dinner on April 21, 2009

Dad was in a jolly good mood and said he will take us all out to dinner and I suggested this home-styled cooking restaurant after seeing some photos of my friend taken having dinner here and coincidentaly, this was a long lost restaurant that my dad took us too before. Overall the food was good and the price was excellent! Very affordable and we are heading back here again soon!

The couple that cannot be separated and yes, you can hear their phone bleeping non-stop (or at each 2 minute intervals) if they are not together. I told this couple that they should just pick up the phone and finish off the conversation instead of texting back and forth! haha. Anyway this is Dylan and Laura (my 2nd sister)

Belle (youngest sister) and my Grandma.

My Mum, myself and Belle

Me and my Grandma

Mum and Belle.
See how Belle is photographed ALWAYS holding on to her brand new handphone?

First dish. House specialty tofu. Very tasty and I could taste some bean curd sauce.
Another house specialty- dong po yuk. Something like braised pork. Very good also.
Stir fried brinjals with long beans and minced meat. Tasty!
Stir fried ginger chicken with kei chi. Very good! It was so tender that Mum mistook it for frog! Ha ha
Stir fried bitter hourd with cucumber. This was for Dad. I think it was just OK. But I don't take bittergourd. So, no comment.
House specialty- steamed fish. Quite tasty and the fish was very fresh! Nice one.

Another afternoon tea session, Uncle John Kopitiam, Melaka Apr 6, 2009

Kevin and I decided to try out this new kopitiam (coffee shop) in Melaka Raya as we always see this place packed with customers especially at night. Well, the food was OK and better than the other kopitiam we used to frequent so we might decide to change our hang out spot as this place was more economical, it was like at least RM1-1.50 cheaper than the other place. And I think for the same or better quality, I'll definitely make the move. I am reluctant to pay RM3.80 for a glass of iced coffee.

The shy boy, trying to avoid being photographed.

The not so shy girl, posing for the camera.
His standard kopitiam food- French toast and iced white coffee.
"Malaysianised" French toast. There is peanut butter inside the two layers of toast, topped up with honey and butter.
My standard order. Iced white coffee with a slice of toast- kaya and butter.

Afternoon tea at Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka Apr 20, 2009

I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought of was cakes. I fancy some cakes for today, so I rang up my brother a.k.a partner in crime, Kevin and he said OK! Yeah, we headed out to Dataran Pahlawan, the new shopping complex in Melaka next to the Equatorial Hotel. I wanted to get some cheesecake but he suggested crepes instead so we headed to this little cafe. This is the same crepes that are sent to the other cafe I used to eat crepes from - Food Foundry in Section 17, PJ nearby the old place I used to live in PJ. A good friend of mine took me there and I still remember clearly, that afternoon we were bored and he suggested that cafe after reading in from the papers. I remembered I was so tempted and spoilt for choices after seeing all the flavours, but there weren't as many as I saw today, or different. That afternoon, I couldn't decide whether to pick green tea or strawberry flavoured, so my friend ordered both and an extra chocolate flavour if I could still remember. I was telling Kevin about this and he laughed saying I was silly and greedy. Haha.

Anyway, we ordered 2 crepes today to share between us.

This is the chocolate banana flavoured. Personally I prefer this one better than the latter one.
Rum raisin flavoured. I had a tough time tasting the rum bit. Would not recommend this one.

Matcha shake. My bro does a better job in Starbucks honestly. I love matcha. anything with matcha, ice-cream, tea, blended, anything whatever, just try selling anything with matcha to me. You've got yourself a deal.
Look at how focused he is when it comes to free crepes, or just free food?

EY Christmas Dinner, Dec 2008

We had our Ernst & Young Christmas Dinner at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel last year and it was almost exactly to what we had the previous year, nothing exciting. Except for we booked a room upstairs and had like a short weekend get-away which was quite nice.

Quick picture before we head out. As usual I am always late for everything, this one I remember clearly as I spent extra time at the local MAC store picking up a couple of make-up stuff hehe, then we got home later than planned and then rushed off to check-in the hotel.

With my good pal, Joe.

Another good friend, Mike.
My handsome partner!

As the dinner was a bit boring, we just had an early night and when we got upstairs, we took more photos! I love the bathroom settings. Two sinks and we didn't have to argue on who's using what first. Nice!

Two very happy people!
