Breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper!!

It was a well spent day today (April 30, 2009), judging by the food that I consumed in one day! haha. Sorry about the messy post, I posted the dinner pictures followed by breakfast, lunch and supper. Anyway enjoy! Kah Yan and I went to Delicious in Mid Valley for dinner and here are the photos. Credits to Kah Yan at http://codybluenz.blogspot.com/

Sinful treat or probably just half a sinful treat as we orderd the berries pavlova to share. Still find the one at Alexis much better. Look out for my posting on the pavlova in Alexis- coming soon!

Happy face, I really enjoy hanging out with her. Always entertaining!

Photo of the lovely gal. Yan
I ordered duck confit spagettini for my dinner (Rm21.90) with sun dried tomatoes and garnished with some coriander and it was good! This olio styled pasta is tossed together with some tender duck confit, is one of my favourites here.

A good friend of mine, Zin rang me up and took me for some breakfast at my old place (when I used to work and live in KL) and we had some pork ball noodles *non halal. It was really good and I wonder why we don't find this in Melaka. Well, Melaka really need to step up on the varieties.

For around RM4, this is what you get. Fantastic really. I could never get something like this for USD 1.20 in Bermuda or UK or in the States haha. Its awesome.

Kuehtiow (flat rice noodles) with some sauce, dried chinese sausages and minced pork and topped with scallions and..

Accompanied by a bowl of meat ball soup.
The complete set, including pickled green chilli and some soya sauce for the extra kick.
Amy took me out to lunch and this was something similar to Kin Kin's Pan mee in Kota damansara and she wanted me to try this. Well, I still take Kin Kin's over this, but hey, this was close and the taste was good too and I managed to bump into an old Melaka friend of mine in the same restaurant!

Below, some greens and a few meatballs served in some egg drop type soup to accompany the main dish. Of course not forgetting the dried chillis to give it more kick!

The main dish- the noodles served with some fired anchovies, fried onions, scallions, some minced meat and poached egg.
You have to stir it up with some dried chilli to get the spicy taste, hence called- chili pan mee. Again, it probably costed something like RM5. Great pricing.
I managed to catch my dear friend, Louisa finally after 2 months back at home haha! I was too busy and it was great to catch up.We had some coffee in Coffee Bean in Bangsar Village and then headed to the new shop in Telawi- Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa and she order this mega ice kacang for all 4 of us to share. It was really good and I think one of the best ones I've had so far! The portion was massive for something less than RM5 hehe.
She know my weakness- Nasi lemak. And I told her I was still full from dinner but she ordered this nasi lemak with paru and sambal sotong for all 4 of us to share again. This is my first time trying and I had always wanted to try the Nasi lemak antarabangsa and it was superb! I will be back again for sure!

Tuna Belly

I didn't take many pics of the dinner that I had with a friend today (April 29, 2009) at this sushi place but here is one showing the tuna belly that we had. It was pretty expensive if I could still recall. I only know its at One Utama and I was quite surprised that the sashimi was served too cold, like it was not thawed completely, a little bit frozen. I was not sure but, well it could have been better I suppose.

Midnight supper in Melaka, April 29.2009

Me and Kevin decided to get supper at the Bukit Cina Wan tan mee. This is the best wan tan mee in town and its awesome! We felt great after that, especially this is my 3rd time and his fourth time coming to this shop and we finally got a bowl of noodles each as the previous attempts failed due to the massive crowds. We were determined to eat this wan tan mee and that explained how persistent we were. After driving here 3 or 4 times empty handed, we were determined to at least get a bowl of wan tan mee tonight. And we did it!

Check it out here!

A very satisfied customer at 1:30 am. Think we were the few last customers of the day! Will definitely be heading here again after me trip to Vietnam and then Penang!

Chill out and then Starbucks, Melaka April 21, 2009

At the Holiday Inn hotel lobby, after getting some quotation on their ballroom. With Caroline.

This is erm Blackberry green tea with mocha chips compliments of the barista of the day - My brother Kevin made this. It was really good! Not in the menu hehe. Special blend.

My handsome brother at work.

From Bermuda to Melaka in 2 months!

I finally did it! Was telling Genna, my best pal about my intention to cut my hair real short like I did back in school when I was 16 but just never had the guts to do it. Well, below are photos showing my transitions since I left Bermuda and got back home. In two months, I just did it batch by batch! Haha. The weather proved to be a real motivator for me to have them chopped!

First day arrived in Melaka. Really long hair as it was really expensive to get my hair done in Bermuda.

After my first visit to my hairstylist.
Then a 2nd visit to my hairstylist again.
Then my mum colored my hair dark cappucino, after my hair needed a touch up again in just 2 weeks! The bright blonde was too much to maintain, so we got a darker color. Hey, I missed my old dark hair. :) Also, check out my newly acquired limited edition nail polish from MAC- Peppermint patti in Hong Kong.

Then finally today, another visit to my hairstylist and got it cut even shorter. Looks like this is here to stay for at least another 2 months. Hey let me know what you think..

KL April 14, 2009

Back in KL after a hectic trip to Hong Kong, I would not personally recommend a holiday to Hong Kong as it was probably the most stressful trip I have had so far. Language was definitely some problem there and the inability to read Chinese probably made it even more difficult. Anyway I will be puttting up some posts about the HK trip soon. Back in KL and my aunty dragged me for some Chinese acupuncture as I have had some problems with my back and shoulders due to my job nature, staring for 15 hours at the laptop sitting on the chair after 5 years especially in audit has taken a great toll at my health. Well, I was conned the fact that I thought it was only a consultation with the Chinese doctor and just needed to take some medication. But, I was sent to a room and the next thing I knew, look at the amount of needles that was poked into various parts of my body. I was really frightened but it was sort of cool as it was not as painful as I had expected. I actually asked my mum to count the number of needles used on me and I think there was about 24 or 28!! The only bit that was painful was on nearby my thumb surprisingly. Well, honestly I can't wait for the next session.. or maybe NOT! :)

Then I packed us some appetizer from my favourite fruit rojak from Jalan Batai and this is the best fruit rojak in town. Still great after all these years. Awesome!

My favourite char kueh tiow stall from Jalan Batai. Delicious!

My afternoon treat! Teppanyaki durian ice cream from One Utama. This was so good!!!

Family dinner again April 7, 2009

This is me again, after a haircut again in 2 weeks. That's how quick my hair grows back at home. This is my 2nd or 3rd visit to my hairdresser and I am already planning for another visit this week! Weather's been extremely hot back at home, like around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Later that night, we all went for dinner and below are some photos. This is one of the dishes that we ordered and this was an additional dish as we were still hungry after having what we ordered. This is the sweet and sour pork ribs. It was ok as I thought the ribs needed some tenderizing at least.
Mum, Dad, Laura and her hubby, Dylan.
The inseparable duo- Laura & Dylan. (opps the other way round, but whatever..)
Me and Mum
Me and Dad.
Caroline to the addition.

Caroline and Belle.

Typical soup- shark fins soup. Yes, I know this is not very friendly to the sharks, but I am pretty sure they are fake ones. Not directly from a shark, which makes it OK. Rationale, real ones should be really expensive and is there still anymore sharks swimming with fins???
As you can see, its mostly made up of eggs, crab meat and starch. Try spot the fin? None.
Sesame boneless chicken. Oh this is good and even better for lazy people, just chew the whole piece down. Tasty!
Stir fried choy sum.
I like this cod fish duo. Like a yin and yang style, steamed and fried slice of cod fish. Yummy!
