New York, New York, March 6, 2009 Part Two

After lunch at Maze by Gordon Ramsay at the London hotel, we took a stroll and headed off for some shopping in NYC.

I was so excited when I saw Manolo Blahnik store filled with all the beautiful shoes! I wanted to go in but Laughton didn't quite like the idea as he didn't want me to end up buying shoes from there. (after the number of pairs of shoes that I currently have) But I came up with a plan, I will try to wear all my shoes as frequent as I can, start reducing my shoes collection and then it will be time and space for some new ones! ;)

Pleased after getting my matching necklace to go with my bracelet. Outside the Apple store.

New York City, March 7, 2009

We began the next day by walking out of our hotel and just realized that the huge departmental store was just behind our hotel and it was Macy's! Haha, we've been here before last year, just that during our first trip to NYC was sort of confusing for me. I was not able to put together the map of NYC and the second trip this time, was much better as everything seemed to make more sense. :)

Gloomy NYC in winter.. Behind me, Bryant Park.
Taking snapshots as we walked to the Rockefeller Building, it was probably like 15-20 streets but since the weather was cooling, the walk was actually quite pleasant as we stopped at a couple of places to look at stuff until we reached the Rockefeller Building.

We found a GODIVA shop in the Rockefeller Building and I could not resist the temptation so we bought some chocolate truffles and they were really awesome, but really expensive! Look at the mouth-watering truffles being displayed..

Before digging into our truffles..

We bought champagne, raspberry and strawberry banana flavoured truffles and they were really good!

The famous Magnolia Bakery and the guy making cupcakes.
Famous cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, made famous as seen as "Sex and the City".

The red velvet cupcakes were still in the oven, so we bought the chocolate and pumpkin spiced cupcakes for snacks. They were really delicious!!

Look at the boy enjoying his cupcakes. Told you so it was good!

We took photos of the Winter Garden theatre where we saw Mama Mia here on Broadway last year. It was really spectacular performance!

The famous Winter Garden theatre showing Mama Mia. Actually, still showing Mama Mia..

The world's largest M&M store in NYC.

Here is Elmo saying Hello to me and he was more than happy to let me take a picture of him! Then I saw Mickey & Minnie saying Hello. Wow, I thought we were in Disney!

Dinner at Peter Luger Steakhouse, New York March 7, 2009

A trip to New York would never be complete without a visit to my favourite steakhouse at Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn, New York! That is the best steakhouse that we had ever been and this was our 2nd trip to Peter Luger's. The only problem was we always had to book at least one month ahead for dinner reservation at this place. Dinner was really good, same standard and quality just like we've had before. Awesome!

We were served some carbs to fill our rumbling stomach once we got our table after waiting 45 minutes for our table (even after having our reservation confirmed)! I was so hungry that I had almost walked off halfway while waiting for our table. I thought it was ridiculous making us wait, even though we made our reservations. In the end, it was definitely a worth wait! :)
Our starters. Shrimps cocktail and the famous sizzling bacon! First class bacon. Crispy and succulent. I don't know how to describe the taste of the bacon as it was really different from the usual siu yuk that we have. Very good! The shrimps bacon was delicious too. Very fresh shrimps and the sauce was good too!

Close up view of the sizzling bacon strips too. One each for us.

Laughton and his Peter Luger's own brew of ale.
Finally our main course!

All smiles after getting our steak, I was quite worried as the portion looked HUGE; but we cleared it all in the end.
Our steak for two. Perfectly cooked! So tender and succulent. Just first class!

Me digging into the steak. Yummy! I have waited for so long for this bit. :)

What was left in the end.. or not..

He had the biggest piece of steak! Best bit perhaps?

Very satisfied and pleased! Wonder when will be our next trip here again??
