Maze by Gordon Ramsay- At The London, March 6, 2009

Hello NYC!! This is our first day in New York and after checking into our hotel at the Hampton's we headed right for lunch. Laughton managed to book lunch at the Maze by Gordon Ramsay At the London after me pestering him for at least one month haha. We were excited to try out his restaurants after our memorable dining experience at Claridge's, London a few months back during Christmas. It was weird as we missed a chance earlier to dine in here during our trip to New York last summer; the fact that our hotel was only at the next street parallel to At The London hotel. We stayed on the Fifth Avenue last year. The lunch here was awesome and was one of the best meals I have ever had! Truly great!

Outside The London hotel.

Laughton and his starter- "Smoked rainbow trout, avocado, sauce mousseline and fennel crisps"

A close up view of his starter.

One with my starter- "Venison carpaccio, chilled foie gras, cranberries, globe artichoke".

The best foie gras starter I have ever had. Beautifully done and the venison were lovely accompanied with the cranberry sauce.

Look how fine it was. Yummy!

Yorkshire pork loin with black pudding, romanesco, apple and cider jus.

My main course- "Pan fried Tasmanian ocean trout, ozzo and fennel heart cassoulet, peekytoe crab". One of the best mains I've ever tasted! Very very delicious and the trout was cooked perfectly and it was so good. The cassoulet was awesome and the peekytoe crab complimented the dish really well. Brilliant combination. I was so tempted to go for another course of 3. He he, but I didn't as I was looking forward to dessert!!

Would be great if I could have lunch here twice a week.. I could cope with this. :)

Valrhona chocolate fondant, green cardamom caramel, sea salt and almond ice cream. His dessert. Oh the sea salt and almond ice cream was so good.. I was abit surprised with salted ice cream but it was way above expectation, just tasted so good. The chocolate fondant was very good too. We wished they came in American portions. :(

Well, I ordered the lemon quark cheesecake with strawberry gelee and pistachio ice cream after the waiter recommended to me and said it was the best he has ever tried. Oh the pistachio ice cream was no ordinary ice cream with the toppings underneath. I am not too sure what was it but it was delicious and the cheesecake was lovely! We enjoyed our 3 course lunch and we are definitely heading back here again the next time we come to New York!

Just look at the strawberry inside the cheesecake.. :)

A very satisfied and happy customer look.

Just like his other place at Claridges, some complimentary chocolate truffles and salted peanut cookie. Nice!

Outside Maze..

Ok shopping next!!

New York, New York, March 6, 2009

This would be rather an unusual post and it sort of took me quite sometime to post it up; I was not sure of the best way of putting this up. However, due to many requests and questions received by us, we decided to put this up briefly for all family members and friends who have been following this blog. I have plenty of photos from my recent trip to New York and will put them up in parts and this is the first bit (more likely the best bit! :)) Anyway, we got engaged in New York and here are some photos! :)

We went for dinner at a Korean restaurant close to our hotel as we were too lazy to go out far and both tired from the sight-seeing plus shopping in New York earlier! It was great and I love shopping in New York! So much to do and see, and as always, too little time and money.. The food was pretty good and typical American portion; super huge.

My dinner- spicy stir fried udon with squids and tofu.

Segambut Seafood Noodles, March 24, 2009

We had the Segambut seafood noodles for lunch as I promised Kevin that I will buy him when I am back from Bermuda. Yau Zin also joined us for lunch and the seafood noodles still tasted same- GOOD! Kevin was also satisfied with his lunch. :)

Curry seafood hor-fun which I had for my lunch. Good but a little costly priced at MYR15 a bowl!

A close up view of the curry seafood which was served separately for me as I requested for the dry version of the plain noodles.

Happy faces after lunch! And then we headed back to Melaka.

I love KL, March 23, 2009

We headed for roti canai for breakfast at the famous Rajoos in PJ.It was really good and I had roti telur bawang and some roti canai from my aunt. We also had some fried fish and fried chicken to go with our rotis. It was seriously delicious! I will be back again!!

Later on in the afternoon, Ah-e took me and Kevin to shop in KL. We headed to Sungei Wang Plaza, Lot 10 and then to Pavilion KL; it was newly opened last year and since I have not been there, we took a walk there.
Below was taken in the bread shop that was selling expensive bread and cakes.

Posing in front of the Coach boutique in Pavilion. I have never bought anything from Coach Malaysia though, usually bought from the States as it was closer to Bermuda. Looks impressive as it was double storey shop, probably the biggest Coach store in Malaysia.

Some photos taken in Pavilion.

Another with May.
Then we headed off for some fish head mee hoon for dinner.
