Farewell makan-makan at Zeiti's, March 1, 2009

Our anticipated makan-makan (malaysians gathering with FOOD) finally arrived and this time it was at Zeiti's place in North Shore, Bermuda. The girls planned this gathering partly because I was leaving the island and yeah, we don't really need many reasons to eat and be merry! We had prawn noodles, mee-bandung (it was very good!! compliments of Zeiti), buffalo wings, tang hoon kerabu salad (thanks to Derek), cakes and even pina coladas!! yummy. We stayed on till night time and did some catching up and it was great, thanks again to Aizul & Zeiti (our hosts for the day).

Happy faces after nice food. :)

Rose & me. We visit her almost everyday for breakfast at the Lemon Tree Cafe. I am a very loyal customer until we decided it was too expensive and had to bring our own breakfast and lunch to work. haha.

Some group photo, looks like Alan was trying to take a picture of Laughton trying to take our photo. A photo in a photo??

The wonderful gal who always give me plenty of info everytime I e-mail her, be it on New York or Boston. Zeiti!

Chubbs and his must-have desert after meal- anything that contains cocoa. i.e. CHOCOLATE.

This is the wonderful view that Zeiti & Aizul overlook every single day. Emmm.. nice!

Great gathering session. Will miss you all dearly!! thanks for making my stay in Bermuda a great one! Cheers.

Dinner at Rosa's Cantina, Feb 28, 2009

It has been a lovely day and Irene invited us for dinner at Rosa's Cantina in Hamilton. I sort of guessed the whole gang would be joining us for dinner. It was supposed to be a surpise dinner haha! But I saw Janine on her way nearby outside the restaurant while we were on the bus into town and then walked across the road and I saw Pei Ying's car stopping for us to cross. It couldn't have been a better time to bump into these lots haha! Anyway it was a great dinner with great companions.

As usual, a picture first before we head out..
Do I look okay? Check.
Shoes and dress ok? Check.

Haha, another pic taken at the bus-stop outside our place.

To kill time, I always have my camera on hand. :)

What are you looking at??

We decided to take one picture in the bus simply because we were the only passenger then! haha

One pic with Pei Ying.

With the gals: Swee Yen, Irene, Janine, Me and Pei Ying

With the dudes: Darren, Laughton, Me, Alan and Darren.

One with Laughton. I like this one. Haha you can't run away from me.

Supposedly the wrinkle free shot for both of us, from the photographer- Alan.

What is the extra prop doing there?

One with Janine.

We headed off to Fresco's Wine bar for drinks later on. Was great for everyone to be there and it was an awesome farewell and I am going to miss you guys loads! Thank you guys!!!

Picnic and First Swim in the Winter at Astwood Park, Feb 28, 2009

We were supposed to go out on the boat, but it didn't work out so we headed off to Astwood Park, just a 5 minutes walk across our house and decided to have a picnic there and probably have our first swim in the winter! We brought nasi goreng with fishball and chinese sausages with sambal, a bag of crisps, some cocktails, beer and a bottle of wine for our little picnic session. Weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend, first good weather as the past few weeks had been raining, thunderstorms and gales.

Below is a picture taken from the cliff of Astwood Park, a very popular park for picnic and also hang-out place. The beach underneath, the thing that annoyed me about this beach was, there were no proper steps leading down towards the beach and we always had to climb down and it was pretty steep.

Laughton and the beach.

Our theme for the day- Picnic in PINK! (pink Nike backpack, pink cooler bag and a pink Kipling!)

Beautiful weather, although a bit windy.

After a heavy lunch, time for him to work on his tans.

A picture of US!

Heading towards the beach! He looks like a gangster in this picture. Ha ha

We finally made it down to the beach! I was busy checking out the water and I decided no, I am not swimming. It was simply too cold and windy for a dip. I'll take photos instead..

Alan was kind enough to be my cameraman for the day. Promised me that he would capture THE moments. Which he did, brilliantly. Nice job, Alan.

I was trying to get closer in the water to take nicer photos. So I said to him, come on, go back a little. A little more.
Opps, I got splashed by a big wave. Argh! Chubbs was smiling at this point as he was just waiting to jump into the sea.

Well, I am contemplating now. To jump or not jump..

Yay! I finally made it! But I was still hestitating until I got splashed all over! brrr.. it was freaking cold!

It was cold, but we still gave our best smile for the camera! :))
Wendy: There won't be any fish-lah in this type of waves. No chance.
Laughton: I will still go- lah. Humour me, please.

Wendy: The water is very clear, NO FISH-la!
Laughton: I don't believe you. Maybe got some further out there.

Compliments of our cameraman.

Thanks Alan, he really did captured the moments!

Portugese man of war (type of jellyfish) spotted just nearby our bags. They are pretty deadly and can cause terrible pain to swimmers. I was so tempted to give it a pop haha but Laughton said no. I always look out for this blue stuff when I swim in Bermuda. Really scares me.
We headed home after that. It was a wonderful afternoon spent!
